We hadn't realised that Jeeva was in a different timeline and things got really confusing for a while. The witch doctor carries on being creepy AF, which is a good thing because the ghost's identity was disappointing.

We don't get this choice. It may have been unexpected, but it didn't make the movie any better, on the contrary. Especially since it happened near the end and we never see the survivors deal with any of that.🙁

He also licks faces with his creepy tongue. The movie takes a weird turn in the final 3rd with a video showing an attack going viral and a news station sending a helicopter. The crew actually witnesses one of the survivors being attacked in broad daylight by the previously sneaky creature.

When we did this with our authors' blog (which is now on Substack), we were able to move all of it at once, but that doesn't seem to be possible anymore (or at least we couldn't find an option for Blogger). Fortunately, it's a pretty small blog, so we just copied every post.

Also, while the demon at least gets a name, Telal, he had no personality, barely appeared, and didn't do much damage. He's clearly powerful + bloodthirsty, given the ease with which he took care of the demonology expert + made Max tear his own face. So, what took him so long to go full psycho?

However, the acting is bad and the sexual humour is terribly unfunny, especially Chris.😒 I spent most of the movie waiting for the demon to get him, but it didn't happen. The problem isn't just that the character is lousy, but that for some reason, the movie actually spends time with him.

Haunted (2017)

The intro mentions a Sumerian goddess + her 7 demons, which sounded good, but in the end only 1 shows up + the ghosts of the house's previous owners.🙁 The haunting is OK + the demon shows his power during the lame exorcism.

And why did Annabelle leave the evil music box with her in the 1st place? Asshole.😒 Lania fails to kill Dr Loris, too, because she's really lame. Oh, and the book that explains the symbol has an English title but the rest is in Latin? Did the translator just give up? What a crappy movie!

This leads to a very boring haunting made worse by a bad script + acting. Lania's attack on Eva was ridiculous. She moves her neck around while the creaky noises sound effects try to make it look as if she's breaking it. Later, Annabelle is told Eva is just in the hospital, unconscious...

We completely forgot about Jebediah shooting people with rubber bullets as if they're harmless. Pretty sure those things can do serious damage if you hit someone on the face at close range. That moment was particularly stupid given that killing the current vessel gets you possessed. What a moron!🙄
