I work for a company that advertises to generate leads.

The advertising platforms pay partner sites for traffic.

The partners use AI bots to follow links and fill out lead forms to boost their traffic's conversion. They get paid for fake traffic and engagement.

The company I work for loses money.

Not exactly established, but published, and yeah, I've cried while writing, and/or felt emotionally spent afterward.

Silicon Valley wants us to believe that a hallucinating workforce is a solution to something.
