On my sickbed (somehow, again) finally soaking in the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.
Haven't seen Andrea Bocelli in ages, so stoked to have more Italian Guard visual reference-- Mariah Carey??
A photo of panels from Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicca comic
Doing my annual flipping through of Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicca and this smoke trail jumped out at me for the first time. Love the design choices in this series.

Moral: Do it right the first time.

Thanks for the consistency, Body!
Exactly! And while a lot of that is reminded by the stability/strength training, after all that Then comes a bit of necessary stretching.
...usually of the hamstrings ๐ though to be fair, the pelvis is complicated and under a heavy load!
Plot twist though: Some muscles actually Are tight because they have to work overtime at stabilizing, and are understandably stubborn to change. I literally just found the fix to my tight hamstrings LAST WEEK.

02.02.2026 14:35 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0At least she told you that! Usually the advice is to "get strong." That kind of works if you don't experience any pain, but bendies tend to do all the right exercises that Look right, but actually involve a lot of compensation, so there's a weird stopping point.

I also find a few movements from mobility specialists like @movemeduk and @movementbyalisa
Gooood question. Some people follow the Muldowney Protocol, which comes as a book for physical therapists, but you can use on your own. I personally went through The Fibro Guy's coaching program (it was the only program they had at the time) and they have tons of free information online.
02.02.2026 13:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm not so stubborn as to say I won't ever change to a new date, but it won't be this year!

Said as a Black Cartoonist, to me, changing the date of #HourlyComicDay brings no added meaning to Black History.
Others may feel differently!
2. 2/8/26 is Superbowl Sunday, and I'm not about to try to do the challenge amid posts that just say "GOOOOO!"
02.02.2026 04:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And to be clear, yes, I am aware that #HourlyComicDay moved to February 8th. Let's address why I, a Black cartoonist didn't do that:
1. The change was hastily communicated without clarity - I thought it was just a Co-op thing. This also left little time to change plans.
Aaaand that's a wrap! The last moments of the day will be on thumbnails/comic roughs, and getting tidied up for work tomorrow.

Bahhh having to haul the computer back out is such a painnnn
#HourlyComicsDay
Popcorn and TV break with the family! ...but also laundry.
Though I guess "break" is a misnomer, since I've just been bopping around all day.
#HourlyComicsDay
I'm going back and forth. A donburi? Focaccia and trying a bit of leftover bolognaise (my stomach has been unusually awful lately)? Either way, now I have options!
#HourlyComicsDay
Honestly, the sausage is quite heavy an kind of soothing to hold! I think I've reworked the pattern enough to start a new pair of pants! ...I guess next weekend.

Comic showing stitching
I'm going to have to reopen it from the top, as I need just about 16 cubic inches of sand (I almost filled it!), but it's really satisfying to hold!

An hourly comic sowing lunch.
Using recipe's from Katarina Cermelj fantastic cookbooks and website, I've finally come up with a perfectly sized, not sweet or weird textured, airy sandwich bread without using wheat!

More hourly comics!
Bah, so this computer was too small, but I decided to keep it anyway... But it has weird problems. It won't load certain sites, etc.
My Varmilo Sea Melody mechanical keyboard, on the other hand, is a 100% joy and delight. I'm just too tired to do a full clean this weekend.
#HourlyComicDay
I second this! And the animation does something very nice for my brain that I can't quite explain.

What up #HourlyComicDay!
Let's do this.
I just looked that date up to see if it held any significance and... It's Superbowl Sunday.
This is not something I care about, but some people Very Much Do ๐ฌ
