Home assistant is great at a lot of things but also not yet a replacement for many of the things folks do with Alexa. I don’t want a robot to talk to me but I do sometimes trigger stuff in home assistant through Siri. “Siri, I’m afraid of the dark” turns off all the lights when I’m in bed.
