Clearly you put a great value on playing style but honestly I find that a bizarre reason to suggest Howe's job might be at risk considering the trajectory we're on as a club. A lot of games last season weren't a "joy to behold" but we came out of it with a trophy. I know what I'd prefer.

When Howe took over bookies weren't taking bets on us being relegated, transforming that club into one that can compete for CL places is no small matter. Think what the teams who were already in that position have spent in that same period? A bit reductive to say what has spending this money got us

It's been said many times that they look at the bigger picture and nothing about their ownership to date would suggest otherwise? It was commonly accepted that the CL qualification a couple of years ago came "too early" so suffering a backwards step before taking more forward is hardly unreasonable

That's exactly the point I'm making though, they aren't looking season to season. It's a bigger picture than that and we are, on the whole, on an upwards trajectory

For context though, I think if you took a squad looking at relegation certainty and thought about what it would take to turn them into a team that could challenge for the Champions League spots I'd not take you seriously if you told me that was expensive in this day and age.

Doubt it. I think the ownership are long term thinkers for the most part and are fully invested in Eddie Howe. Difficult to argue that the overall trajectory since the takeover has been upwards
