"that guys a terrorist" that's not a smart person. you don't have to listen to that person anymore.

This entire ride has also been massive affirmation for the Bernie crowd, I will say. I don’t mean in terms of specific policies, but more so in terms of the gaslighting that happened in the wake of the establishment shooting him at the knees TWICE. They would have done it here too, but they lost.

So yeah, it’s massive for Democrats, but never get it twisted: He had to beat them too. It was a battle on two fronts. What we’re seeing is sooooo huge, and that’s why so many of us care despite not being NYC voters. Zohran is proof of what we’ve been saying, about the future, about Dems, etc.

It’s not that NYC is more important than other places. It’s not that he’s more important than other people.

It’s that his victory is much more than a Dem victory. It’s a win for *the people* against the ENTIRE duopoly. It’s a denial of the old guard. It’s a refutation of complacent cowardice.

It’s important to pay attention to all of the Dem victories from last night, many of which are victories for democracy overall.

But when it comes to Zohran’s victory in particular, it’s also important to highlight & underline the fact that the establishment Dems tried to stop him too.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”

Man alive. The contrast between the courage of voters and the absolute cowardice of Democratic leadership is just undeniable and the story of the moment.

The question is which will win out in the end and that question just got a whole lot louder.
