Had a great trade show this week. So many followups to work through next week, but Poolaroo has a lot of momentum from this trip! #ecommerce #onlineretail

A lot of us wanted to be you when we grew up. You actually did it! Hell yeah.

That's amazing! And hat tip to how much work went into it!

Probably both of them, true. Man, I classified SO many galaxies back in like 2009. Galaxy Zoo was amazing.

If you're using generative AI to make "UGC," I'm sorry, but we aren't going to be friends.

I'm a huge fan of AI tools, but honesty still counts, and that's just deception. šŸ™„

Blacktop Mesa, that's the name of the one I was on. Anyway, fun to see the old stomping grounds, thanks for sharing your view!

Ah, no, the one I was on is closer to it, now that I dug up the photos. Still, a lovely place to crawl around and explore.

Aaah! I've been there! It keeps looking like you're almost to the top for like the last half mile, as I recall. Gorgeous hike in and out, too. Great shot.

Saw a low tide like that a couple of weeks ago right at sunset outside of Newport. There was no wind at all, either, so it was just lovely to wander around the surrealist painting that is the coast at moments like that till the tide came back in.

#shopify #productphotography #timelapse #ecommerce | Roy Steves 🌌 So, as part of my transparency and authenticity approach to Poolaroo, we took a timelapse of the photography process (stills for a motor, then a 360 for a pump), and I plan to add some music, do a lit...

I'm betting that behind-the-scenes content helps establish trust and credibility in a world of AI slop. I'll be editing it into content that actually goes on the site, and this is the kind of thing my competitors would never do. ;)

Having been there at this time of year, it's amazing, and you captured it beautifully!

Corporate Giants and Ecommerce - StatBid As I was surveying the articles and sources I intended to use to assemble this report, I realized that understanding this ecosystem means tracking the...

So I had just wrapped up shooting the video for a new piece I'd researched, when OpenAI dropped the Instant Checkout announcement, which I couldn't NOT address.

While I really had a lot of fun with this, and came to a few "ah ha!" moments, I'll narrow future scope

Heck yeah. Just spent all day getting new tires on mine, can't wait for some fall exploring.

And yet... they seem to do the job 80% of the time.

Which 80% is a big deal, of course.

Heh, of course OpenAI would drop the Instant Checkout news the same day I was recording 12 gigs of video for my next post...

Back to the drawing board. šŸ˜…

For someone who was already a developer, it sure is like playing the game with cheat codes, as long as you still take the time for the sensitive bits (security, etc).

I just learned that the cosmological constant might actually be less than zero, after all, so I'm right there with you.

This is a long form version of what Adam Savage describes as having "a perspective" to share. I think it's a good razor for separation of AI-assisted creation and slop.

I'll hit an actual payout in as little as 9 years. šŸ˜…

I appreciate that perspective, but the "No True Scotsman" fallacy present in "real code" and "real company" tilted me, I'll admit. šŸ˜…

If humans are the bottleneck, smaller teams that reorganize around the new reality will win. That's all I mean. :)

It's entirely true, as long as you insist on riding your horse on the train tracks...

It's not the same thing at all, and trying to compare to how things were done a couple of years ago is missing the bigger picture.

My coding time is WAY more than 10x what it used to be. Not even close.

So, AI assisted art is absolutely a complex topic, but the position that it's entirely invalid because someone who uses that tool can't do it without the tool is a dead end. Just wait till those gate keepers hear about synthesizers...

Besides, playing with AI has TAUGHT me so much...
