a fun little poster for a pre-the mountain goats show magic event
08.09.2025 19:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0version two of the boiler game controllers, itβs snake all the way down
21.08.2025 21:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0i have never again gotten the same feeling as when i beat this game
08.08.2025 19:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0this βmechβ is getting replaced with a different kind of captive ball thing, but i love the idea behind this one
27.07.2025 14:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0trashland getting absolutely torn apart
27.07.2025 13:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0with this new version, iβve incorporated it as one unit, but the metal guides screw directly into the playfield via 12mm steel spacers. this puts them right at the center of the pinball, ensuring that the ball rides on the metal. these will finally function exactly as traditional ball guides do
23.07.2025 21:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0in that photo i tried a similar solution to incorporate steel strip into the guides, and it *kinda* worked. however, the metal portions werenβt tied directly into the playfield, so it still bounced
23.07.2025 21:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the problem iβve had previously is that with 3d printed guides, the impact from the ball will bounce off of it rather that being smoothly redirected (at most angles). in this photo the small loop toward the bottom, and the loop in the vertical section above both didnβt work quite right bc of this
23.07.2025 21:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0so, normal ball guides in commercial games are steel strips that are screwed directly to the playfield. when the ball hits a guide at any angle besides 90 degrees, that impact gets absorbed and redirected such that the ball will glide smoothly along the guide
23.07.2025 21:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0new parts day for trashland. this is kind of a minor/technical update, but at the same time should make a couple of key shots feel much better. i love my 3d printed parts in most scenarios, but for the ones these are upgrading they fall flat
23.07.2025 20:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0itβs been a while since iβve done too planty a piece
14.07.2025 12:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0i have been obsessed with william morris since roughly 2016. decoration, ornament, and craft are all both important to art and important art forms.
14.07.2025 12:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0also a detail of the current cabinet art
14.07.2025 11:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0i needed some good photos of house of flesh and blood for something, so here is a nice photo of the playfield and the outside-the-cabinet loop. for context, the playfield for this game is 16β by 18β (compared to the normal 20.25β by 45β)
14.07.2025 11:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I did a hard thing that was on my todo list only to find it was not actually written on my todo list, thus denying me the satisfaction of crossing it off and now what is life for its rainy people I love are dead and I am so alone.
12.07.2025 15:51 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0it needs a lot more juice, itβs about as visually simple as it could be. but everything finally works exactly as it should!
08.07.2025 20:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0snake in a boiler! but now even better!
08.07.2025 20:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0snake is not especially exciting, i want to do more interesting weird little games. but, given this is in a bar, they need to be: intuitive, quick, fun, and fun to watch.
i am also not that great a programmer, so snake alone has been a challenge lol
behold! snake in a boiler! mostly!
04.07.2025 15:35 β π 9 π 3 π¬ 2 π 0and here with the buttons!
03.07.2025 01:42 β π 14 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0these are for two separate (but related) games, but theyβd actually work well as a two part thing now that i look at them

02.07.2025 20:38 β π 15 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0I imagined the Chatsubo in 1984. 41 years later I opened its door. Neuromancer is in production.
01.07.2025 19:14 β π 7365 π 1894 π¬ 309 π 683dang, itβs been a while since iβve snap ordered a book so quickly, this looks great!
26.06.2025 18:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0some exciting book pickups
25.06.2025 20:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0fortunately not lol, i just have to keep track of what switch/coil goes to what input/output!
24.06.2025 17:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0hereβs the underbelly of trashland!
24.06.2025 17:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0iβve got a buddy whoβs an old school pinball repair guy. he can be like βoh, the 100s unit it acting upβ, look at one of these, and be like βyeah itβs this specific switch thatβs not closingβ. boggles my mind lol
24.06.2025 17:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0check out the schematic for an em game too, these are really beautiful documents imo

yeah, games before about the mid 70s were entirely electromechanical! iβm not super knowledgable about how all the relay logic all works, but the 10s score dial has a similar piece on it, so if that number and the match are the same when it checks, the connection is complete and it gives the credit
