Tamam Al-Akhal, Horses in Paradise, ca. 1990-1999, painting. An abstract, dreamy like painting of a group of wild horses running free, almost floating. The horses are of light yellow, grey and blue colour, contrasting against a dark blue sky background. There are also clouds, so it looks like a vision where clouds are turning into horses.

A modern painting, also horse and community themed. This time, against a white background, the composition consists of overlapping silouettes of horses listening to a call. At the center, the only figures coloured, there is a mare, protecting her baby with a loving gesture, placing her head over the foal. She has an expression of concern.

Tamam Al-Akhal (1935) is a pioneer of modern Palestinian fine arts who has taken part in building a Palestinian artistic vision and vocabulary.
I loved her beautiful horses, a symbol of strength, a reminder that Palestine will be free:
Horses in Paradise, and Scream of the Revolution.

her eyes are closed, she has nice arm muscles and looks extremely lesbian

This appears to be an elaborate Baroque-style sculptural representation of an archangel, likely Saint Michael, defeating a demonic figure. The sculpture is mounted on an ornate gilded base and is displayed in a museum setting with white walls and other historical paintings visible in the background.

The archangel is depicted with dramatic movement - wearing blue and red clothing with a winged form, wielding a sword, and standing triumphantly over a defeated demonic or serpentine figure. The sculpture shows incredible detail in the flowing drapery, musculature, and dynamic pose, characteristic of Baroque artistic style which emphasized dramatic movement and emotional intensity.

The sculpture is placed on a white museum pedestal, with track lighting illuminating it from above, and other similarly styled paintings can be seen in the background, suggesting this is part of a larger exhibition of historical religious art.

Did you know that...

Nearly all public library systems allows their patrons to recommend books for their collection. Whether you're a voracious reader, out of bookshelf space, or beyond your current book buying budget, this is a fantastic option for Apex readers!

When you recommend a title, the library's circulation manager (or other library employee) will review your recommendation, and if they feel their local reading community would potentially enjoy the title and if the library has the budgetary discretion, they will order a copy.
