As a retired US Navy vet, if you are ordered to invade US homes, break their doors, zip-tie kids? - and you do that? YOu should read up on Neuremberg because those are NOT lawful orders, and you should be fucking ashamed of yourselves. Your families shoulid be ashamed of you. Stand the fuck up.

Look. Invading our own country is about as straightforward a case as you can have for impeachment. The GOP abandoning the Constitution is kind of the only story there is and it gets no coverage.

This is a breathtaking abuse of the law and power by the President of the United States.

America is on the brink of martial law.

Do not be silent.

history teacher in 50 years: So in September, thatโ€™s when the president signed an executive order criminalizing anti-fascism and saying all resistance would be crushed

student: oh so thatโ€™s when the whole country realized they were living under fascism

teacher: haha what? oh no lol not at all. no.

I canโ€™t believe Iโ€™m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

I know we are โ€œused to itโ€ but it is absolutely insane

This is EXCELLENT.

1) this is spot-on analysis of the problem & a great immediate 1st thing a city can do to improve outcome.

2) as a 2 min clip? He's giving history, hope & change. Speaking to women, to Jewish & Black NYers, saying "abortion." & also naming eugenics in feminism. 100/10 no notes.

Even Gen. Nelson Miles said it was
"the most abominable criminal military blunder and a horrible massacre of women and children."
He was critical of the CO of the 7th Cavalry who led the massacre, and after retirement, fought for compensation for the survivors.

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

This morning, Benjamin Netanyahu will address the United Nations โ€” an institution which has concluded his government is committing a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. He arrived in New York after a flight that added hours to its path to circumvent the airspace of countries which might enforce the International Criminal Court's warrant for his arrest. During the course of his speech, another Palestinian child will undoubtedly be killed by the Israeli military in Gaza, as they have been every single hour for nearly two years.

Eric Adams will greet Netanyahu as a friend. Andrew Cuomo proudly served on his legal defense team. Both have jockeyed for the approval of Donald Trump, who has sent billions of our taxpayer dollars to support these war crimes.

A Mayor cannot end these atrocities. But they can speak for the values of this city: a commitment to human rights for all people, including Palestinians, and a yearning for peace and justice. Even if those values are anathema to those in power now, they will endure.

As Netanyahu addresses the United Nations in New York City this morning, the world recoils in horror at the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Literally the authoritarian playbook:
1. Call your opponents terrorists.
2. Deploy state power against them.

There's nothing subtle or confusing or complex about what's happening. The *outcome* is uncertain but the authoritarianism is right out in the open.

The Supreme Court could say the presidentโ€™s allegedly illegal actions must be put on hold while the Court reviews it.

Instead, they repeatedly say Trumpโ€™s abuses must be allowed to go forward while in dispute.

Thatโ€™s entirely a choice. Thereโ€™s no basis in law. Made the opposite call with Biden.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. Itโ€™s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Letโ€™s get a grip on whatโ€™s happening here.

I truly don't understand how democratic leadership think they are going to move forward after voting to honor a white nationalist who essentially called Black womenโ€”the base of the partyโ€”stupid.

It's insulting. I find it personally insulting.
