The front page of the Chicago Tribune leads with two articles one with the headline "U of I shrugs off rules on athletes' NIL deals' with a big photo of some people hugging in an arena. No mention of protests on the front page.

The New York Times Front Page leads with three international stories: "US Primacy Under Threat in Trade War", "In Ukraine, War Takes Poisonous Toll on Soil, Air and Water," and "Video Counters Israel's Version of Aid Killings." Below the fold is a midsized photo with a small title "A Day of Protest."

My research on civil rights movement found nonviolent protests were generally more effective for growing coalition but, in absence of police and vigilante repression, many news outlets deemed peaceful protests not newsworthy.
