I just saw a test automation role at Dunelm. Bloody Dunelm. They’ve figured out they need automation, but still a ton of the games industry needs convincing.

Ok maybe I’m being a bit uncharitable. I’m frustrated, not trying to kick anyone who’s down.

We know how to make games now so if funding gets cut off, the game is short of content and features rather than full of egregious crashes. That’s a development team decision.

Thing is, we know how to make a game not crash every half hour, and it doesn’t take millions of dollars. You can either make quality a priority, or not, but you made the choice and the critical reception is going to reflect that.
