12.07.2025 06:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Congrats on getting a short published! That's really cool that you were able to do that directly.
08.05.2025 01:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for all you guidance and activities these last two weeks. I'd love to see more exercises, and keep trying them out to improve. Best of luck with your writing!
05.05.2025 08:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This week I'm going to query again with my revised package. After a query batch, I usually take a writing break to read comps/TBR list, but I'm jazzed up to work on my speculative WIP because of Camp, so I may "cheat" and do that instead this month. #CRPWizardWasps
05.05.2025 08:33 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for sharing your experience with pressure point fighting! That's fascinating. I'm sorry to hear of your pain but am pleased my research was correct. And thank you for the compliment; that makes me smile. It's true, there are times for precision and times to go for larger targets!
05.05.2025 08:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's a good point. Do authors usually go direct to publishers then?
05.05.2025 08:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Because of her size, Mia was trained to pressure-point fight.
04.05.2025 16:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Love when characters use their surroundings and niche knowledge.
04.05.2025 16:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I brought my polished MS so I don't have large scale changes to that, but my CPs gave me great feedback on first 5 and query letter!
04.05.2025 16:28 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No, unfortunately I've never written short stories.
04.05.2025 16:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's a great quote. In fact, I think I have it saved to my Pinterest writing board as well.

Here's a scene from my MS. I edited an "angry" out and I like it much better. Thanks for the tip!
This is great.
02.05.2025 07:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Before becoming a mom, I used to have about an hour of distraction free writing time after dinner and chores. Now I have to fit it in during small moments. I usually have to "steal" them from times I shouldn't be writing.

30.04.2025 22:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sorry for being absent lately. Me, my husband and toddler got sick this week. I'll try to jump back in as much as possible.
I've been querying my MS, and plan to send the next query batch after Camp. It's been great to CP for other authors in the same phase as me!
No, I don't really get stage fright either. π¬ I genuinely enjoy presenting. I get a tiny bundle of nerves right before stepping out but then it vanishes. They're probably similar for me in that if I have a solid plan for what I hope to accomplish, any mental blocks go away.
26.04.2025 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't often experience writer's block because I get such limited time to work, so I force myself to go in with a plan. The hardest part is trying to fit it all in before the session ends. I think writer's block happens when you let the project become bigger than you.

25.04.2025 22:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The deepest relationship in Wallbreaker is between Mia and Brant, which is challenging since they spend so little physical time together. I like that challenge though. It's like Katniss and Gale in Hunger Games.
Bonus: I envision their interactions as if they're friends of mine.
What does your protagonist think it is? Mia thinks the storm blew out the candles and lights.
What is it actually? A stranger cut the lights.
How will its arrival change your characterβs next decision? It will make her decide to stay or flee.

Mia wants to return to the capital.
She'll lose out on her dream and be separated from the boy she loves.
She tells herself that she can succeed on her own.
She finally admits to the truth to the group of people who are about to destroy her success, and it works, she wins them over.
Love this!!

My villain was so helpful and actually pitched my book once upon a time.

23.04.2025 16:34 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's awesome. You literally got to watch the movie to your book first. All other authors are jealous.
