Two chemographs (top and bottom) displaying the arrival of modeled tracer from two locations at a model outlet. In solid lines, the chemograph shows tracer modeled without stormwater control measures, and in dashed lines the results from a model with stormwater control measures are shown.

We modeled the movement of a conservative tracer across a hillslope before and after stormwater control measures were constructed, and found that during all storms tracer mass arriving at the outlet was reduced due to SCMs. However the % decrease was small (<5%) in high intensity storms (>16  mm/h).

Disconnect between Capture Areas and Stormwater Runoff: A Pre- and Postinstallation Model of Two Stormwater Control Measures | Journal of Sustainable Water in the Built Environment | Vol 10, No 3 AbstractOverland runoff was modeled before and after the installation of two stormwater control measures (SCMs) in a 23-ha urban catchment. The location of adjacent SCMs, a berm and bioswales, on the ...

Our new paper on the impacts of stormwater control measures on urban runoff is out now! We found that storm intensity drives differences in the relative contribution of upstream areas and the effectiveness of SCMs. ascelibrary.org/doi/10.1061/...
