The fact that immediately after this Billy tells Sidney that the tv version of The Exorcist reminded him of the “edited” version of their relationship is just *chef’s kiss*

It oscillates between very really commentary about violence and loss and grief and trauma, and some of the funniest dialogue

Scream (1996) is one of my favourite movies, and has so so much humor and satire baked into, but I still find the opening upsetting after all these years. Even if it’s playing up the genre a bit, it makes you witness this poor young woman’s demise in a brutal and gut wrenching way.

Companion doesn’t really reinvent anything, and I was okay with that- I found the performances and writing compelling and engaging.

Heart Eyes is fun! It balances the unexpected romance and the slasher genres really well, playing around with tropes from both genres and more.

I really enjoyed both of those!

I think my favourites are Companion, Heart Eyes, and Sinners.
