I'm actually kinda surprised that it took longer than expected, I thought they were gonna close up shop with the animation studio by the first half of 2025, and now they're basically in the same place that CNS is in right now with how corus addressed the news but I think this time it's even worse...

Honestly, Corus is just a shit show. Corus Entertainment bought Nelvana in the early 2000s. They doubled down on linear broadcast television and slipped into irrelevance. Using the last decade to speed run their crash (literally, their stock is worth pennies).

I posted a while ago about how Nelvana was making their last show (possibly ever), and after that production would wrap, they would essentially have no more employees, effectively “closing” the studio. And here we are. This isn’t a ‘gotcha’ or a ‘told you so’. It’s more sad than anything.

yeah I think the hotels in latin america seem to still be doing fine and look to be much more interesting than the first orlando location ever was from the start, and they're opening a new hotel in that area too by next year as well

I also think it could be a preferable hub for their kids/family projects as they have a notable kids show output compared to hbo max, prime, and hulu which are more YA-oriented and are the most successful with that demographic

Upon seeing what's happening at CBS/Paramount and comparing it to some of the stuff coming out of Warner Bros this year (Superman, that one Absolute Batman comic), I think it's pretty clear why the latter doesn't want to be bought by the former. Major strategic misalignment there.
