If you can't find the right word, put down the wrong one. Keeping your momentum while writing is more important than getting it right on the first pass. If you're worried about it sticking - BOLD the word & keep going. You'll notice those words right away while editing when you have time to process.

The single most important skill to master in storytelling is knowing when to reveal information to the audience. Before it is relevant/immediately when it is relevant/or after it is relevant - all three times presents a very different story experience to the audience. Always ask when we should know.

Wasn't able to do much this week because of vacation. I'm sitting down to write 2k words now. I'm excited for my writing group meeting next weekend.

And my novel is about a young woman living with an adopted older brother under the oppressive family patriarch, Ma, who uses religion to justify their cannibalism. When she lets a potential victim escape, she sees potential for her own freedom.

First line of the first draft of the first short story I'm #writing this year:

"I approached the guarded gates behind which lay a corner of the Earth God abandoned nearly as soon as he created it."

Excited to finish. Even more so to edit.

I'm trying to submit more short stories and finish up the novel I'm writing. So far, I've replotted the novel to work out the kinks. I'm happy with my progress so far.

Working on Draft 3 of my novel. I' be happy if the first 3 chapters were done. I'll also be submitting a short story at the end of the month for an anthology.

Those are the January goals I'm hoping to reach.

A couple stories about grief really stayed with me, even a few weeks later now. Very well done.

Something that surprised me was about 1/4 of the stories I read formatted dialogue incorrectly.

I'm finishing up my volunteer time with reviewing a slush pile of a #writing contest. Extremely enlightening. If I don't enter this contest next year, I'll volunteer again.
