Or they could be behaving very differently on one platform versus another, trying to see who they can lure into more radical thinking (as I think this account was doing)

These accounts are often literally sponsored by governments & run by real people because warfare has always been psychological

one of the hardest things about my AuDHD is my complete inability to set habits

There is no "fix it and forget it" for me.

"Oh, you've been doing the same thing at the same time for ten months? And you're down a single spoon? You're screwed! Good luck remembering it exists!"

it’s 41F/5C and raining so you would think the 2-3” (5-7cm) of ice that has been covering where we park since mid-December would be gone, but you would be wrong

Yep yep, even the sourdough. I have some on my counter that is at least a week old and still soft right now.

(I suspect that the making of this loaf would make us both gnash our teeth, LOL)

I think it might be different here! We add a lot of "dough conditioners" to store-bought bread. The conditioners make it last a lot longer on the shelf--I can count on that lasting a week without mold, sometimes two--but it stays soft the whole time. If I tried to wet it, it'd just dissolve.

He knew very well that people from elsewhere, used to the standard accent on cable TV, heard all soft-spoken drawls as a generic Southern. They didn’t hear the slurred, fluid words of Eastern shore Marylanders as different from the almost-English accent of Georgia’s families who’d grown up in antebellum mansions. South Florida’s Spanish-inflected patterns were as different to his ear as the close-mouthed rhythmic vowels of east Texas were to the clipped sliding blends that lingered from the Alleghenies to the Adirondacks.

Tip: if you’ve made bread, say pepperoni rolls, a few days ago and it’s a little stale, you can revive the bread by quickly running it under some cold water and then putting it in a warm oven to both soften the inside and crisp the outside.

This does not work with store-bought bread.

These strong emotions included excitement about children they only saw for limited periods, often within shared play spaces in school.”

I may say more later but part of what some of us need to understand is that the right has built an entirely distinct civic society, with its own hierarchy and (mostly networked) cultural institutions. That includes celebrity.

generally speaking, I think pulling the "Do you know who I am?" line is an real asshole move, but I will confess that it's occasionally satisfying to be able to say, "Actually, I wrote a book about it."

I became Senior VP at a multi-million dollar company at age 26. My salary was $600k. This was in 2018.
How did I do it?

Blacked out lines

CEO (my dad) promoted me to SVP.
There are no gimmicks. There are no shortcuts.

vs, say, the AO3 house style, which often (but not always) involves an emphasis on character study and often the resulting interiority.

And, perhaps, a sense that the world is kind of inevitably happening to the character (maybe because of the known events in the world building.)

Just my two cents, but I think a lot of KU house style revolves around an almost exclusive focus on conversations, with short, simple declarative sentences and very little internal contemplation. They go here, they talk about a thing happening, they go there, they talk about a thing happening.

If there is an AO3 house styleβ€”and I definitely think there isβ€”then I also think there is a Kindle Unlimited house style, and I have to say, it’s really weird to be reading one place and see the other.
