Judging from the shadows, and the direction they’re looking, I’m going to say that Nova was in direct sunlight, backlit from Mike’s perspective, so Nova may very well appear to have a black costume to bystanders on the street.
Also, Mike Burley is a liar, and he failed kindergarten, twice.
