Mascherano has been AWESOME.

Noah Allen tells me postgame that he’s ok, it was just cramps and out of precaution. He had a very long trip during the FIFA break.

He’s going to be 100% good for the Conference Final.

I don’t think a lot of coaches would have had the stones to leave Luis Suarez on the bench tonight.

Mascherano’s growth as a coach throughout the season has been pretty impressive to watch.

As part of the shift, the 2027–28 MLS regular season will kick off in mid-to-late July 2027 and conclude with the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs in May 2028.

Quick Mascherano story:

{Off camera} between doing the same interview, first in English and then in Spanish. Told him his English has gotten so much better, more fluid, almost perfect.

He smiled, almost embarrassed thanked me and said:

Happy for Mascherano. Go ask Tata how brutally impossible is that job.

He has been an absolute gentleman every game, always available to talk, always respectful, always honest, always open even for a quick chat or inquiry. You have to love that from a coach.

Also getting better w/ time on the job.
