Australia: kudos on efforts to limit social media for kids. I predict that ban is a speed bump for kids and they already have work arounds. Probably took 10-15 minutes, maybe less.

I suspect you’d need to ban devices or ban functionality on devices.

Four-day school week: What research suggests To help recruit teachers, many U.S. school districts have adopted a four-day school week. Research shows there are consequences for students.

I’m seeing chatter about the 4-day school week. I recalled achievement can remain the same or decline, appealing for recruitment to a degree, real estate can be negatively impacted, child care and services for children can be impacted. Good summary here.

My prediction… the school psych shortage is going to become exponentially worse. Those who want to become one, have to be able to afford it and most likely will have differing backgrounds of where they are needed most.

I’ve seen positive effects in the real world. Intervention and curriculum review should come down to external review and local review of outcomes.

As SB 1 impacts ripple across Ohio college campuses, students, faculty say 'the chill is real' Two months into her final fall semester, one OSU senior said the ripple effect of Ohio Senate Bill 1 on campus has been "like a quiet roar."

I’m assuming this movement is happening in other states. But, whether they agree or not with professors, I want my kids challenged academically and intellectually. Reform grading practices. That would be most fair.

Awesome. I’ll still listen when I walk the dog. I β€œwatch” late night shows as podcasts while walking. Plus while I complain, I won’t pay for Spotify premium to hear ads in podcasts. Get off my lawn too.

When reviewing student data, this is the first time in my career I’m looking first, and more closely, at criterion referenced assessments (eg state test) than newly normed screening assessment results.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.
