23.12.2024 22:15 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Pet peeve of mine: non-localized numbers. These annoy me at a very subconscious level, it actually just graduated to conscious level.
Discovered recently, just use the `toLocaleString()` method (developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...) on any number and you're set.
Thank you, that's what I need to hear!
18.12.2024 18:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There are too many things I want to build for Listadum, please save me from myself and remind me I should not be building anything, and do marketing instead.
#buildinpublic
New addition. This banana thing just cracks me up.
18.12.2024 03:12 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I set my affiliate program to give 20% of the sales to the partner, but starting to think itโs not incentive enough given the low price point of my product. So i guess it depends: whatever will make affiliates do the work of promoting your product.
16.12.2024 08:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So say one does 0 to 5000 in 3 years, how does it look at the end of year 1 and 2? Is it linear? Does it accelerate?
16.12.2024 08:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Every year, I challenge myself to read 25 books, and although I've succeeded every year since 2019, I'm not sure I'll be able to this year... 18 done, 7 to go.
Can you guess why from my 2024 read list?
Just finished reading ยซย Show your workย ยป by Austin Klein in one sitting. The author talks about artists but the concepts in there are exactly what the #buildinpublic community is or should be. We are all artists anyway. #showyourwork :)
15.12.2024 05:33 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I spent a couple hours yesterday writing content ideas for social posts for Listadum.
I focused on these categories (mostly carousel type posts):
- tops
- yes or no
- fun facts (although sometimes it's just facts)
- it's in the data
- hot takes
I found 88 ideas, time to write now!

Isnโt it a simple redirect? Most domain providers offer redirects for free. Problem come if you want to reply with the custom email instead of your personal.
12.12.2024 00:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0At the end of their registration, I ask new users where they heard about Listadum. Interestingly it's becoming more and more diverse, which means my efforts spreading the word are paying.

I launched on Product Hunt today... and the amount of inbound I get on LinkedIn and via email to sell me upvotes is simply disgusting ๐คฎ
#buildinpublic
Oops! I kind of forgot I scheduled it for today, but Listadum is live on Product Hunt: www.producthunt.com/posts/listadum, check it out and let me know what you think!

I want to connect with people with successful mobile apps who managed to make ads, attribution, and/or web-to-app work at scale in 2024. Are you doing this? Do you know anybody? Please help!
11.12.2024 00:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Reached out, if they donโt respond Iโll just refund the rest and probably ban the customer
07.12.2024 04:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0First Stripe dispute ๐ฅฒ I'm scared because this user has 3 more renewals after that, are they going to dispute the whole thing? How do you deal with this?

I canโt stand websites that flaunt nothing but 5-star reviewsโit just feels fake.
For Listadum, Iโm proudly sharing my real 4.75/5 rating based on actual reviews. Letโs be honest, not every review is a 5-star, and thatโs okay. Nobodyโs perfect, and transparency matters.

I'm yet to figure out why, but I could not deploy anymore as Nixpack was missing some components, and pnpm was not found at runtime so couldn't restart services. Probably a bad update? Even more probably my human error.
05.12.2024 05:04 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Started the day with my servers down, impossible to restart or redeploy them, had to initialize a new VPS and re-deploy everything from scratch, move the domain DNS to the new server... I guess that's the occasional price to pay when managing your own servers.
How is you day going?

I'm hesitant to reduce the grace period though because I've seen subscribers who had successful charges recover after 2-ish weeks.
03.12.2024 23:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Nothing really, just looking at Stripe dashboard!
03.12.2024 23:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One more thing: when Stripe fails, there is a 2-week grace period during which retries happens, so the free trial extends to... 3 weeks of free usage, with for some no real intend of ever paying.
03.12.2024 20:10 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes it is for Listadum specifically.
Artadum does not have a free trial, I get different payment issues but at least they can't use the tool for free until payment is made.
Filtering serious payers. There is a lot of value delivered upfront, a lot of people just take the free trial and never seem to intend to convert. But that's a fair question, I'll ponder.

How do you deal with this?
But I'm scared that removing the free trial will just tank my sales altogether...
03.12.2024 17:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0When running ads, especially in certain countries, it sends wrong signals to the platform that these users subscribed and I want more of them, but they never convert. I guess sending conversion events one week later could be an option by that would make the feedback loop too long?
03.12.2024 17:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I see too many Stripe payments failing due to:
- insufficient funds
- payment declined by card issuer
It's especially frustrating when the subscriber does not convert out of their free trial because of that.
I'm thinking of removing free trial and having a money back guarantee policy instead. Let me explain:
