that said, very exciting for those (in the treehouse…?) who ARE working on it and I’m sure they’re making it fantastic!!

very mixed feelings about the direct… excited about new FE3H universe game!! but also sad that I’m not getting to work on it! (I believe this one is being done in-house at nintendo)

I will say there is one translator whose work I really enjoy reading (polly barton) and I purposely read everything she’s done. she consistently does an incredible job!

and also this translator renders ハンバーグ as “hamburger” which I personally hate because it makes zero sense if you’re reading with no deep knowledge of japanese culture/yoshoku dishes, which is most english readers

(my preferred translation for that is “hamburg steak.” it’s not perfect but it works)

I’m not going to name any names but… I have been reading through all novels by a particular author, who is always translated into english by the same translator, and even though this person is a respected literary translator, the books are full of “Eh?” which is clearly え？

like… do better!!
