For me that was Isaac Asimov with his "Three Laws of Robotics" but that not the person you are looking for. Neither Vannevar Bush and Alan Turing who "played" with the idea of computer intelligence, late 40's early 50's. It's John whose last name matches a US Senator who "hunted" communism.

It can prepare your skills for gigatron.io . I still need to start building my Gigatron and indeed lack the soldering skills. So I bought some of those practice kits.

You'll be surprised how many Fortran code is still running daily on Supercomputers. OpenFOAM for example has a lot of Fortran code.

@van9tot5.bsky.social was signing his cartoon books on "Strips op de Markt" in Gouda. Got my yearly Supercomputing/HPC quote in part 3: (translates to "To Alain, Supercomputing?, should be OK, as long as you keep reading van9to5) #HPC #Supercomputing #cartoon

What if you no longer have to install a broad range of scientific software from scratch on every laptop, #HPC cluster, or cloud instance you use or maintain, without compromising on performance?

For me it's Neil Stephenson when a read his novel "Snow Crash" (1992) but I don't think that's the one we are looking for here.
