An hour until the fest, one of the zinesters came up to our welcome table and asked for a mask, saying they felt weird that they weren't wearing a mask. 😈

Zinesters at tables selling their zines and attendees talking with them. Almost everyone is wearing a mask.

We couldn't require masks at Twin Cities Zine Fest (venue policy), but we tried to cultivate a culture where people would wear them (free masks at the door, etc.) Look how many people are wearing masks!!! 😭 I love the zine community. 💗 #TCZF2026

First year in forever that I'm in town for this, and I'm excited to (1) share a selection of my free zines (guante.info/zines) focused on creative resistance; and (2) facilitate a workshop 2-3pm on how zines can be practical tools for organizing and cultivating counter-narratives.

The update here left me weepy with how full of love it is. If you can help with end of life expenses, here's where and how.

I've had that happen too, that they gave me questions an hour before the interview. What is that trying to accomplish??

I've had decent luck this time around getting responses when I didn't get the job, but it often takes months, which is hard.

I think if those groups know their questions in advance, it's helpful to share, if just to give the candidate a sense for what that meeting will be like. I can't think of a downside of providing questions in advance.

I really don't get the idea behind calling all the references, and doing it before the interview. Are they really getting valuable info from that? Isn't it a waste of time from their perspective?

With sorrow, we announce the passing of FOBAZI M. ETTARH 1989 - 2026. Fobazi changed so many lives with her friendship, love, and brilliance. She was so loved, and leaves behind a powerful legacy. We thank Fobazi's community for their support over the last several months of her illness. A private burial will be held for family. We will be in touch with further information about a future Celebration of Life event, as well as ways to support Fobazi's family and legacy.
