Some outdoor work (which has left me simply drenched with sweat after just a tiny effort) netted me a couple of interesting spots:
1. I interrupted on the porch, a spider wasp with this unfortunate Tigrosa helluo, and
2. an Enoplognatha marmorata(?) female with a hitchhiking endoparasite.

I love music with this sort of hypnotic bass line. This has always been one of my favorite TH songs.

I can vividly remember reading SciFi when I was a teenager that was already pretty far past its expiration date. There was even stuff in Analog that I wouldn't bother reading again, even if it was a gift.
And then there was the GORy type stuff that (imoatoistoco) was expired before it was printed.

I kind of like chatting with nice people who are suffering from dementia. Answering the same questions over and over is easy once you have the answer. I like easy.

It’s an almost irresistible urge many of us have: to define everything by our personal tastes and require everyone to follow, or at least agree. Like the urge to classify and slap labels on everything, it’s kind of a basic human drive. Useful to fight, of course, like so much, but we’re herd anims

Everyone has tradeoffs. We all choose what we want, what we tolerate and what we won’t accept. Personally, I’m just glad my wife tolerates what many wouldn’t because of one positive she thinks is important.
Cooking and cleaning are details. Who says those are her jobs, anyway?
