⚠️ Funding for key programs like the Reproductive Freedom & Equity Program, Reproductive Health Care Improvement Program + Family Planning Grants, saw no increase despite federal uncertainty.

Increased funding will strengthen access to care in NY.

PROGRESS:

✅ $35M backfill for the federal Medicaid defund
✅ $20M to support medication abortion & care later in pregnancy
✅ Improvements to speed up the release of abortion access funds

While this action represents important progress, it is not the finish line. New Yorkers deserve health data protections that put control in their hands.

We look forward to continuing to work with the Gov. and Legislature to advance stronger, more comprehensive protections in the next session.

In an era when digital data can be exploited to punish people for their health care decisions, strong, enforceable privacy protections are not optional – they are essential.

At the same time, we are disappointed that New Yorkers did not receive the full protections they deserve when it comes to control over their personal health information.

This is a critical and necessary step forward, and we thank @bradhoylmansigal.bsky.social and Assemblymember Harry Bronson for their leadership in advancing these protections.

We applaud @governor.ny.gov for signing Shield Law 2.0 and strengthening protections for patients, providers, and families against out-of-state efforts to criminalize reproductive and gender-affirming care.
