I've been contemplating starting a podcast but I've been having an extremely difficult time getting excited for anything, given the state of this country.

@stephenking.bsky.social I read Pet Sematary close to, if not, 25 years ago yet somehow I just dreamt I lived it. We were digging a resting place for a pet rabbit, mind you I've never owned a rabbit, and then we just sat by and waited. Woke up as it was crawling out, nope nope nope! 😂

Much like most, I've been trying to protect my sanity but remain informed. This too has proven to be exhausting.

A neighbor, Republican, said her friends ask why she won't switch since she votes Democrat. She said, "Because I'm mad. I vote for who has the better policies & promises, but my beliefs align Republican. I'm hoping the smart ones get back in power but until then I'll vote for the current smart ones"

Everyday I wake up and check the news and everyday I wonder how we're still here, with things just consistently getting worse.

I'm gonna be so sad when Augie realizes it's "hand sanitizer" and not "hanitizer"

I was planning to protest today, but the wind storm last night took out some power, my husband was called in for storm duty, I no longer have childcare coverage. If the kids were a bit older & understood, they'd be coming with me, but they're little, require potty breaks & lots of snacks. I'm sad.

Look, I haven't gotten rid of Amazon because, well I'm torn. My books are on there, and I know I don't make any money from them, but getting published in reality is difficult. However, I did cancel all my subscriptions which takes away my monthly delivery of 12 items out of Amazon's piggy bank.

Good news sources need to get rid of pay walls. At least temporarily. Our country is in crisis and it's so difficult to find quality news.

Anyone see Target's email this morning about Black History month and supporting Black-owned brands? What uh... What cha doing? Benefiting while still cutting it out? I'm confused Target, you think we're all dumb?

I know, it hurts. And people from other countries are encouraging "us" to fight back and I'm sitting here in disbelief but also assuming someone is coming up with a plan. What if no one is...

I just keep hoping that somewhere behind the scenes something is happening to stop all of this. As in, that's why "it's quiet", someone is working hard to stop this and fix this. I hope there's a force that isn't just stuck with their mouth wide open in disbelief like I am.
