Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wears it's inspirations on its sleeve, but still manages to stand out with a dynamic and engaging combat system, as well as top-tier environmental design and a compelling story that infuses dark fantasy elements with French culture for a delightful experience

I've been playing @expedition33.bsky.social, and not only is this game my favourite game of the year so far, I think it stands alongside the Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei franchises as one of the best turn-based RPGs. A huge congratulations to Sandfall Interactive for an incredible first game

I'm not a dad but guilty as charged!

It looks like the patches are addressing some of my biggest issues, like how easy it is to die in the Zord levels. But, I would have liked for the Rangers to all feel a little more different and maybe have a level up system. However, the music SLAPS and it did make me want to rewatch some MMPR

I need to go back to this now that they've put out some patches. I can tell it came from a place of love of beat em ups and Power Rangers, and the devs should be proud. But, this hasn't quite been hitting the highs that games like TMNT Shredder's Revenge and Scott Pilgrim have for me...yet
