The last time this happened in the 1930s, our grandparents and great-grandparents could have been forgiven for not knowing where it would all lead. But that’s not the case for us. Our leaders can see what’s next, because the precedent doesn’t lie.

So we wait. Knowing our inevitable, terrifying fate

It’s terrifying that so many of us are able to see and predict the dark times into which we’re headed with chilling accuracy, because we’re able to read the signs. And yet, here we are, lumped with the long list of useless and ineffectual leaders in Europe, who are going to prove to be our downfall.

Genuinely can’t remember ever wanting January to be over as much as this year.
Everyone I speak to seems to have had a beastly month, and it feels like we’ve just spent the last 3 weeks pushing frantic emails onto each other, spreading the beastliness.

Scratching my head wondering how relatively easy it was to ban TikTok in the USA, but not guns and rifles.

Got the morbs = temporary sadness
Gigglemug = always smiling
Scandal water = tea
Bitch the pot = pour the tea
Sauce-box = mouth
Cupid’s kettle drums = breasts
Dash my wig = OMG
Tight as a boiled owl = drunk
Poked up = embarrassed
Not up to dick = unwell

At the risk of sounding preachy, I deleted my FB account around 3 years ago and I can honestly say it’s improved my mental health no end.

Maybe I’m being over simplistic, but none of this makes any sense, and the whole things feels incredibly broken.

So, why are we all working longer, more frantic hours instead of fewer? Why is it getting more of a struggle to keep up with modern life, instead of easier? Why has it become so much harder to raise children, to the extent that we’re facing plummeting birth rates in most countries?

So here’s the question that’s been eating me up lately: we’ve been sold the mantra that technology and AI will make our life easier, that ChatGPT will make me a accomplish my tasks in a fraction of my time, and that all of this will feed into a greener future too.

I’ve agonised about my first skeet and overthought it just a bit … but here it is.
This space will be, to an extent, a continuation of my Twitter account, which is now permanently dormant.
