Ugh - that sucks. Ours was a TCL - quality probably varies a lot between brands.

Our Roku TV was fine at first, then as the software got fancier while the hardware stayed the same, we saw performance start to degrade. So, we just picked up a Roku Streaming Stick for $50 and plugged it into a free HDMI port on the TV. Now it's working great again!

- even finding your people - e.g. finding a group to help in the area - take a break from the constant scrolling.

The news out of the Middle East is going to get more grim, and that ON TOP of what's happened today domestically is just way too much for any one brain to process.

Take a break.

So sorry to hear about that! If you search for "outage" and look the "Latest" tab (rather than "Top"), you'll see quite a bit of chatter about the outage. Not too much to say about it at this point though, other than it's happening :(

11 corporations that turned their backs on hungry families Republicans are working furiously to pass a massive reconciliation bill through Congress.

1. Major corporations β€” including AT&T, T-Mobile, United, Uber, and Comcast β€” have spent years touting their commitment to combating hunger in America.

Now these same corporations are publicly supporting a $300 BILLION CUT TO FOOD AID.

Wow - I haven't thought about Pivotal Tracker for years. That's quite the blast from the past!

There must a German word for "app that sounds like it should be easy to code, but turns out to be much more complicated once you get into it". Task trackers definitely fall into that category.

One Week With Desktop Linux After a 20 Year Absence One Week With Desktop Linux After a 20 Year Absence

I wrote up my thoughts and experiences on desktop Linux after a 20 year absence. Also notes on the Framework 13 (not most recent) version. There's a big list of "if you this on Mac, here's what you can use on Linux" comparisons as well.

The worst arrogance of software engineers is that because they're clever in technology they're by extension clever in any other domain, so _obviously_ the other domains are unnecessary and "non-technical."

100% agree. They feel like a good solution when you're writing them, but not so much if you're maintaining them, particularly in a large app that you didn't write.

Is there any value to calling senators in other states when they're on a relevant committee? e.g. calling members of the Senate Finance Committee to pressure them to stop Musk's takeover of the US Treasury payment system?
