This isn't a thing in any creative circles, ever. The only time you don't need to talk to an artist about using their work in your publication is if you buy their stock art, which comes with a license that covers a conversation about rights, usage. This person's explanation is extra ripe bullshit.

Being an artist trying to talk with other artists is just embarrassing. "I like your shapes and colours!" Mortifying playground shit

a lot of artists think art style is a sign of "levelling up" but personally, i think art style is just a sign that an artist has become more comfortable working with what they have

like damn, dude stop treating amateur artists like idiots...

maybe some of us don't want to sell art, maybe some of us want to take a break from studying because it stopped us from thinking creatively, maybe some of us just wanna have fun 🤷
but no, always going back with the "studying is important!!" phrase

art community lately keep pushing for the "levelling up" mindset and frankly as people start treating art as a product rather than a hobby, us artists got tired of constantly being told to "study more" before we're able to create what we want because imperfect art "won't sell"

a lot of the response for the "I DON'T STUDY ART" meme is like "you should learn, you don't know how much it helps when you study" when the meme is literally about giving up on that studious part of your brain to focus on creating what you Enjoy

To each their own. I respect people's ships, as long they don't start shipping wars and force it onto people.
