okie dokie, I think the first pass on the barbarian overpaint is done, I'm planning on doing another paintover layer towards the end that will tie all of the levels together (just little things like light spill and smoke and magic effects) this is the most ambitious painting I've ever tried to do???

Nice! Are felt tips available for the base stylus?

I've reviewed: 2 Boox devices, 2 Supernote, and the Magic Drawing Pad, and I would still personally prefer Supernote. I absolutely love it. That said, the Magic Drawing Pad is good in a different way, as you can create full 'final' illustrations, as Clip Studio Paint etc. is on the device.

✦ Not a huge issue, but this tablet is limited to apps found on the Android Play Store.

Final thoughts:
It's a wonderful tablet, which I believe I'll continue to use. It's perfect for sketching and doodling.

Cons:
✦ I've got some awesome EMR-based styluses, but it's a shame that this tablet only works with XP Pen's own styluses.
✦ The matte screen is a nice feature, but still quite slippery vs tablets like the Supernote.

✦ This tablet is lightweight and seems durable, perfect for travelling around with.

✦ A fun additional feature vs other tablets is the inclusion of e-ink modes such as limited colour, and black and white modes. As someone who loves sketching on a Supernote (an e-ink tablet), this is a cool addition. It even has a physical button to switch between modes.

✦ The overall stylus experience is good. There is a more premium stylus that I would've liked to have tried, but the base one seems up to the task!

Pros:
✦ Fun and easy to use. This device is very accessible.
✦ The price point is fantastic for the type of device it is. This is especially the case when it is on a deal/offer.

The wonderful people at @xppen.uk kindly provided me with their portable art tablet: the Magic Drawing Pad. I've had a great time trying it out, and I decided to put together a brief review of my experiences (see thread).

Congrats! Very much deserved. Every observational painting you do is so creative, they're so inspiring to see.

It seems to have gone under the radar for a lot of people, it makes me sad, as it's just so good.

The worst thing is that these rebrands cost a lot of money. The idea that some design consultancy was involved in this and was paid a lot of money is mindblowing. Feels like all they did was open MS Word and select what seems like a default font, and say, "Hey, there's your rebrand, money please!"
