To the people telling Itchio musicians / audio designers to move to Splice to sell our work...Splice uses AI to fill the gaps between a sample and everything else happening in your DAW. It generatively alters your work.

Plus THEY legally own the samples, no longer you.

Splice heavily relies on AI to fill gaps in user submitted samples. I'd rather be crushed by a piano than let my work ever be featured on Splice.

With my next Sample CD releasing in about a week, I'm really curious as to what to do about it's full release.

Would releasing it on Itchio even be worth it right now considering the current situation? Most devs don't browse bandcamp for audio packs so I'm wondering what now.

Huge piece of advice for newer #indieDevs / #GameDev folks

Don't bring like...a handful of composers on to your team. We rarely are able to work together in the sense you probably expect us to be able to work together and it creates uncomfortable situations for us.

I've got like...four releases in production right now and I think GauntletGauntlet not being revealed yet is fun.

Yeah, people took my post about the gooner bros being mad and kept trying to claim it meant I was applying it to all NSFW devs...but like I literally said the only people mad about the tag conflict were the people abusing it, lol.

It got so performative and gross, people calling me a Nazi and shit.

Tl;dr - NSFW devs wanted some sort of legitimate equal to the "Minors DNI" tag sex workers use. We got the Adult / NSFW tags, but people wouldn't use it because it meant more coverage.

Now because of uploads like "No Mercy", we ALL have to suffer along side with the ones who caused the tag issues.

And when I say causing issues I mean NSFW devs (myself and many of my friends included) were being grouped in with people acting like Itch was a site where people could upload games like "No Mercy" and FNAF porn directly into a front page Que that minors WILL see.

MANY people wouldn't tag their NSFW fan games, fan games of stuff like FNAF, Poppy's Playtime, Bendy, Banban, ect. They would make porn games with these characters and NOT tag them as NSFW / Adult only. They would show up in the horror tag que without warning and it was causing issues.

I disagree. Games that followed the rules were also delisted. My post was made when the initial reaction was when people like this were actively attacking devs who didn't have content removed, or devs who talked about the importance of correctly tagging uploads - bsky.app/profile/thet...

The itch censorship has bought out the most unhinged people. Accusing me of being a fascist who post Christian Nazi Nationalist content because you misread my post only for you to block me after I point out you reposted my meme and we repost the same people is batshit and hurts our fight.

If you can’t figure out what defines someone trying to abuse the tag system to get their games past filters versus a bystander of censorship thats on you and not me.
