Romanesque 12th-century font from the Lower Rhine-Maasland made of Naumur bluestone, with heads on its corners and beasts on its sides. As a mendicant church, it originally had no font but after it became a Congregational church this font was kindly provided by the Schnรผtgen Museum.

Devilโs door
Blocked-up door in the north wall of a church, once believed to have been an escape route for the Devil when he left a child as a result of the sacrament of baptism.
Seems as much that with ritual changes with the Book of Common Prayer a north door was no longer generally necessary and so often closed for practical reasons?

This could be a long and rambling thread. Be patient with me.
I bought an old mahogany bureau on Ebay. I didn't really want a bureau as we're meant to be downsizing, but it was a beautiful piece & obviously very old. Google lens suggests the brass chased handles are Queen Anne. That's 1702-1714 ๐ฏ
