They are! And almost mystical once you realise that dead is not, in fact, dead 🙃

Big brown rocks in the foreground, a strip of seemingly dead white trees beyond. Foreboding clouds in the still-sunny sky.

Palo santo in the #Galapagos look dead and ghostly most of the year. But in season, when the mists pass through from the sea, the trees come to life again and have new leaves.
