I tried to get people to switch but they are always like it's too hard... there used to be this social network called bebo, it was the main one everyone in Tonga used. then it went out of business and everyone just switched in a week. somehow they can't do that anymore lol

I dropped all Meta except messenger and quickly realized you can't live in Tonga without facebook, it's the main way the govt announces things besides the radio. Now my kids tell me messenger is too old fashioned and if i want quick responses i have to message them on instagram. they own us.

When brought here (prob by the british) there were maybe workers Asia, who may or may have been called Chinese (how would we know the difference lol). The dict also says a part of town is called Siaine because it was a banana plantation, but that means Tonga has had a China town for years!

Look in the tongan dict, cause in Tongan it's Siaine, I never realized it's China as well (in modern tongan people say Siaina). Dict says it's the difference between the cavendish banana and our regular varieties of plantains. Even better they used to be called Siaine Fisi (fiji Chinese 😆)

I get lots of supplements from the us, something i'll soon not be able to afford. Like anything else health related, (like less sugar), I reckon the work now at least extends the livability in the dark future where I'll (hopefully) just have to live on coconuts like in the old days. 😆
