03.07.2025 12:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No idea if WP'ers are forced to listen to Fox for 4 years. Where would they find the time? Here's something that made me laugh. When the jury found the Candidate guilty of a felony, I decided to see how Fox was handling it. They never mentioned it, instead talking about the Biden "Crime Family"!
25.05.2025 18:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Correct. See my other responses. I had a problem with the use of the word "brainwash."
25.05.2025 12:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I agree. I didn't mention that I lived next door (Cornwall on Hudson) to West Point most of my life. My mother worked there. I had friends who went there. I ran distance races with many of them, played bridge with officers and teachers there. Never heard of any conduct I would call "brainwashing."
25.05.2025 12:35 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You are correct. They were Class of 51 and Class of 62. I have no recollection of their political stances back then as I was just a kid, but later in life the older one was a Trump diehard, the younger one was active for peace. I have never heard that the Academy brainwashed anyone however.
25.05.2025 12:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I do not believe that and wish you could clarify. My 2 BILs were West Point grads. One went on to vote for Trumpβs first term. The other protested vigorously against war and did not vote for Trump. The academies are above supporting Trump.
24.05.2025 16:01 β π 35 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Thanks. It was Cato, who ended all his speeches with "Carthago delenda est." He hated Carthage. Mostly a trade war, but man did those two countries fight.

16.04.2025 12:37 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks. Found a few friends from "over there". Happy to be here although the constant anti-Trump stuff gets a bit repetitive. (Correct stuff, just a bit too much!)
12.04.2025 12:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If for some reason you are in search of the best dressed men in America, donβt go to a bridge club
26.03.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is exactly right. Evaluating risk is tricky and complex. That is why Kahneman, Thaler and others contributed so many helpful studies on decision-making and risk. The scope is far greater than investment banking. Thank you.
23.03.2025 12:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Rather than whine every day about the present administration, why don't the press and other posters do some research and tell us the names of the companies that advertise on Fox News? Hit their pocketbooks instead.
22.03.2025 12:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe the best example of what economists and sociologists call "confirmation bias."

28.02.2025 17:22 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for following me @lisabolynn.bsky.social. Looks like we have a few things in common.
26.02.2025 16:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Last night my wife and I watched "Mona Lisa Smile" and there was one scene that touched me. The woman who had been lied to about her boyfriend said to the liar, "Why couldn't you just let me be happy." We can all help others by happy, and it's so easy to do.
24.02.2025 13:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks Ariaa. When you get a minute, email me some of those enhancements for my own use. Sounds like a great idea.
18.02.2025 13:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Friends lunching at Picasso's home in the South of France commented on the fact that he had none of his own pictures on the walls. "Why is that Pablo?" they asked. "Don't you like them?" "On the contrary," he replied. "I like them very much. It's just that I can't afford them."
16.02.2025 13:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The key to many of us is in the phrase "lack of consultation." If there were a process in which wasteful spending is eliminated, no one would complain. Talk about the baby and the bathwater
10.02.2025 13:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So simple, and yet an obvious solution.
09.02.2025 16:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good lesson. My wife is a power knitter and seamstress. I learned this the hard way.
08.02.2025 13:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Even worse here if you're a guy, believe me. Who are all these women so interested in a happily married 78 year old man?
04.02.2025 13:34 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Each day I meditate and in that effort I tell myself that I will dismiss thinking about things that don't harm me personally. But maybe now I'll add your idea as a positive thing to do. Thank you.

24.01.2025 20:11 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Einstein said that in different words: βI never teach my students. I simply provide an environment in which they can learn.β
24.01.2025 01:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All instructional designers work in the same three learning domains. What the learner needs to know, do and feel. Focusing on helping the learner trust the medium is a powerful issue. I will also add that total focus on know without the do is not a definition of learning.
