I am circling around a thing today, and I swear I'm gonna catch it. Lunging again:

Groups play some mix of the text of the game and their own view of the *promise* of the game, and the further you are into playing the promise, the less the details of the text matter.

AND

If we accept that people do play both the text of the game as they read it and the promise of a game as they perceive it, and often prioritize that promise over the text, then what's to be done in terms of design?

Rogue Trader, but make it OSR-ish I love Warhammer 40k and its setting and scale. I do find that often, however, that scale is not really represented well – and that’s a shame! Playing the actual tabletop wargame still …

Why does the Rogue Trader (TT)RPG make you personally sneak past guards? You have people for that. I wrote up an OSR-ish take where the core decision is which scale you engage problems at (and whether you risk getting personally involved at all).

This is perhaps the most seen I've felt with regard to erotic TTRPGs in a while. It is such a frustrating but understandable sentiment, though it becomes all the more frustrating when it's the -dominant- sentiment. This is also true for Hawkmoth, and has been true for my own work to an extent.

I had another dream This one was about the existence of a show on HGTV named Bitch House. The host was a man who appeared to have been a werewolf college student dragged off some Florida beach during spring break, poured into a suit, and shoved in front of a camera. He wore giant sunglasses every episode. There was no explanation. Every episode was the same. He would show up and tour somebody's house while they talked it up: how much they paid for it, square footage, time to the highway, backyard, last renovated in xxxx, bedrooms, bathrooms, home office, new roof, everything. They would be touring the house the whole time, just like any normal HGTV show. Then they would gather back out in front of the house and there was a really tense moment where he would tell you if your house was a bitch house or not. It not, he would just kinda shake their hands and thank them for the tour and walk away. Otherwise, he would turn to the camera and scream "BITCH HOOOOOOOOUSE" at the top of his lung
