I think to taint ESA being β€˜sinister’ is a tatt hyperbole. Especially if compared to other governmental organisations across the pond.

So, goodbye MTV. I will miss you. I watched you in awe in the early eighties when I visited the States, and I remember how excited I was when the advent of cable zapped it directly into my room in continental Europe. Ray Cokes and Kristiane Backer were my VJ heroes,

Theresa Reidy: Catherine Connolly's victory has lessons for the Government, the left, and future candidates The election result sends a sharp warning note to the Government

Writing about what the presidential vote means in Irish Examiner today. Green shoots for the left, bad news for the government and warning signs from a potentially undemocratic far-right.

After years of trying, I am now splitting the morning between BBC Radio 3 (classical music, very little talking, no commercials) and WDR 4 (no commercials, classic tracks from 70s and 80s, lacks the annoying artificially cheerful verbal bombardment from stations such as BBC 1 or 2).

Good morning Bluesky. Little query: what do you feel are the live radio streams most conducive to a happy relaxed working environment in the home office? Let's limit it to French, Dutch, English and German language stations.

This is a shock, Jane Goodall (1934-2025) has died. One of my dad’s cousins knew her & would regularly give me updates on her adventures & chimps. She was a great force for good & part of my childhood. 91 is a good age, but it’s personal when your heroes die.

Maybe all the energy & water use would be worth it if we were getting major benefits like cures for diseases and saving endangered species

But we're wasting our drinking water and paying higher electricity bills for deepfake revenge porn, shitty ad voiceovers, cheating on term papers, & MechaHitler

Most people with DLD don't even know they have DLD!
Often they were told as children that they'd grow out of it. But DLD is a lifelong difficulty with understanding and using words and sentences.
Be part of the change!

Excellent interview with Gerald Knaus about the ultra-right's *pan-European* (& US-American) approach to destroy the democratic institutions that have secured peace & prosperity for 80 years.

Painting of a geometric polychrome Roman mosaic with floral design within a central roundel

Painting of a geometric polychrome Roman mosaic with floral design within a central roundel

In 1971, a late 4th century AD mosaic was found at #Halstock in #Dorset

This painting, by Stephen Cosh, was made for the @antiquaries.bsky.social (Roman mosaics of Britain vol II 2005)

The original was reburied and sadly can no longer be seen

A lost little masterpiece for #MosaicMonday
