Carla Hayden is an inspiration to so many in the library profession. People outside of that profession probably don't even realize how much. She certainly became an inspiration to me. She will be missed as our chief librarian.

My mom is also a librarian, and she went through the Leep (MSLIS online) program while I was in high school—I remember her sitting at our kitchen table working on her assignments. So, when it came time for me to apply to LIS programs, I remembered her experiences and decided to apply to the iSchool too.”

Margo does not recommend baths. She absolutely doesn’t care if you think she stinks because she got into the compost. It was delicious.

As someone who was a parent in college who at that time didn't have this type of space to go to (maybe UVA Library does now?), having these spaces available contributes to feeling valued and knowing you belong when you feel incredibly out of place.

It never fails to delight me when students with children ask me where they can go in the library. I happily pointed a student with their newborn to our family study space and told them about everything we offer.

Today's Librarian Content:
- working the info desk
- disappointing students by telling them someone has already checked out the one copy of a textbook - the loan is 16 wks (WHY?!)
- Writing two articles and annual report/dossier
- Getting distracted by friend saying LUNCH?!
