This is interesting - I was a night owl who often worked until 5am to finish essays or projects in high school, so if anything, this would have forced me to go to bed a little earlier. I guess it makes sense for HS seniors in college prep classes, but should probably be 10pm or so instead.

What about having people carry a square of tinfoil - shiny (like “ice” and noticeable even without words written on.) Easily disposable and easy to hide (this square of tinfoil? It’s just trash from my lunch.) At night you could even shine a light on it to make it noticeable.

We did a “no screens” day in the Berkshires and by 2pm our child was bored enough to compose a song on a pan flute.

Spending this last “no camp” week watching Homestar Runner videos, eating Totino’s Pizza Rolls and playing Settlers of Catan because apparently my 8 year old is a millennial college student.

I’ve replaced my And Just Like That hatewatching with The Summer I Turned Pretty and at first I felt embarrassed watching a “teen show” but, honestly, the maturity levels of the characters on both shows are basically interchangeable.
