Sure, yes she would still be the lesser of two evils but like he argues and I agree with, that wouldn’t have helped her win. Democrats need to focus on grabbing independents and people by focusing on economics, etc rather than going “centrist” on social issues.

That’s what he is arguing, it just sounds weird, but as someone that watches him regularly it’s a case of sounding bad without the full understanding of the context and how he talks.

I just think he’s arguing at the zoomed out idea that a more rightward Democratic Party is not going to to be better because hateful people or conservatives will just vote for the MORE conservative candidate. The arguement comes from a place of saying the Dems need to move more left.

Yes and he didn’t say not to vote for Harris again. He is referencing the big idea that it is not a winning strategy as Ezra claims “to move the party more to a moderate side” because those who are transphobic will just vote for the more transphobic candidate. Again, he never has meant that

It’s really hard to have this conversation over text, but I do think he is talking about this hypothetical world in which Ezra is saying Harris would’ve won if she conceded more. Hasan is saying that this hypothetical world is wrong. I know it sounds like he’s talking about the current world.

The full quote is “would’ve been better for trans people after Harris made concessions” Ezra is talking about the hypothetical world where Harris conceded more to moderate voters and Hasan is criticizing that statement that no Harris should not have in that moment tried to concede more.

The clip is misleading because when he talks about Harris he’s talking about Ezra’s hypothetical about Harris would’ve won if she conceded more things. It’s not him saying that Harris DID concede those things and thus is worse for trans.

What is inaccurate? He’s criticizing the position of Ezra saying Dems should essentially move more right. He didn’t actually say Harris was bad for trans.

He is criticizing Ezra's stance that the Democrats should be more open/move more to centrist ideas and cede ground on some issues.

If you look at the text and what I was responding to you’ll realize I wasn’t saying the democrats are the REAL issue OVER conservatives. Both can be true that A) the fascists in power are taking away our rights and B) Democrats could’ve done more to stop it. Again, BOTH can be true at once.
