A Phalaenopsis amabilis in full bloom. The flower is white with a cross-shaped labellum middle lobe, the base of which has yellow and red markings.
It is the most wintry part of winter, in zone 6a, so what does my tropical, epiphytic #Phalaenopsis amabilis do? She blooms, of course. Out of PURE SPITE. Or it's a cry for help, either way she turned 3 this last December so I must be doing something right

I love that! I brought back a calathea and scindapsus after putting them both in the same pot, I will never separate them! Life bonded 💚 Now, to replicate a miniature houseplant mycelium network.. TBD!

Both have made a comeback with a couple paltry leaves after much encouragement, a tiny humidifier JUST for them, begging & pleading, then ultimately ignoring them.

And NO I won't let them be free, they are non-releasable and not native to my zone, they will DIE in the wild since they never learned how to hunt or hibernate! /s
Me to myself as I don my velour matching VS lounge set: "I am in my 30s. I am allowed to wear this. I am not leaving the house today anyway, and at least the outfit is black. This is fine. This is the natural progression of things." 😅

People who say "Well, they should have followed the law" to a situation in which a law is oppressive are not good people. Following a law does NOT equate to following morals, ethics, compassion. More and more I keep seeing laws that are incompatible with normal life.
