The facts are simple: Republicans control the White House, the Senate + the House. If the govt shuts down, it's because they decided to shut it down rather than protect healthcare.

Here's what "negotiate" means in this context: give up healthcare for 22 million people, let premiums spike 75%, keep the tax cuts flowing to the top, and call it compromise.

They're already running the same playbook Trump used in 2018 - threaten the shutdown, then flood the media with talking points about Democrats "holding the government hostage" and "refusing to negotiate."

Democrats have drawn a clear line - they’re not passing a budget that strips healthcare from working families while the tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy stay intact.
Republicans could prevent this shutdown by simply including healthcare protections in the budget.
