The moon disguised as Saturn
28.11.2024 23:49 — 👍 46268 🔁 3146 💬 395 📌 129that’s definitely the ideal situation no argument.
but it’s hard to even give doctors the ability to look into alt when their patients won’t have access to those treatments. but yes, it should definitely be deferred to specialists and professionals
this may be shocking news to you btw but given that everyone here is using this platform - they also all have access to the internet. they can fact check any information they come across. i’d also love to know what expertise you have in the area
22.11.2024 17:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0discussing fact - like diabetes has genetic factors - isn’t medical advice. neither is discussing existing research - which is available to the general public.
22.11.2024 17:17 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0the medicare budget has increased annually.. even under trump’s administration. all you’re doing - or trying to do - is fear
monger when it’s not based in fact or reality
or lobbying for increased funding… medicare is an incredibly powerful negotiation tool that the fed has used historically to both encourage and force states to subscribe to certain bills/matters. it’s likely they’d offer to increase funding in exchange for cooperation. elsewhere as they’ve done.
22.11.2024 17:14 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0my bad? i didn’t realize that to engage in open discourse with people who also aren’t experts you needed a doctorate in the subject. didn’t realize that leaving a comment was tantamount to signing up to do a ted talk
22.11.2024 17:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0i’m truly trying to understand where your argument is coming from but where in the things that i said - did i even mention cutting funding for treatment? that’s not something im at all discussing. you just want to argue
22.11.2024 17:06 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0not really sure why you’re arguing with *yourself* because i haven’t said anything to which that reply would be relevant.
i didn’t discuss removing funding from treatment. yet again that’s not at issue here. all i’m discussing is putting more funding towards preventatives.
coming from someone who has an autoimmune condition and has spent quite a long time researching, dealing with insurance and medical providers… yes i have some baseline of knowledge when it comes to this particular issue.
also, discussing theory surrounding medicine isn’t giving medical advice…
largely western medicine is revolutionary and useful. on the other hand we massively overprescribe, improperly diagnose, and mistreat individuals. this isn’t novel information. so yes a focus on prevention is really important given those problems
22.11.2024 17:00 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0there’s also nothing to suggest that the change would cause insurance to stop paying for life-saving medication that is medically necessary….
22.11.2024 16:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0glp1s are not fda approved for treating type 1… that’s not at question here. i’m speaking specifically to preventable conditions. type 1 isn’t preventable. so you’d be correct, diet wouldn’t help with that
22.11.2024 16:57 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0you’d be correct at least with regard to some conditions but preventative care including screenings especially for things like cancer is really important for the elderly.
22.11.2024 16:55 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0plus contemporary meds like GLP1s are preventative meds that can help reverse pre- and actual diabetes. it can cure insulin resistance, and so much more. contemporary meds aren’t necessarily covered by insurance now without doctors jumping through hoops to get pts access
22.11.2024 16:40 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0also, there may be ligament issues, bone density problems, and god knows what that could be causing knee issues. imaging that insurance may otherwise not cover can help prevent future degradation of your knee and prevent worsening problems with it.
22.11.2024 16:38 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0to provide an actual answer - diabetes can have genetic components. proper screening - especially as it pertains to insulin resistance to determine how one’s body process carbs and insulin is really important to determining if there are nutritional changes that can help prevent or reverse diabetes
