Need to get better at closing out games. Another growth stage.

Expected some rust to start by the Habs. Glad they came away unscathed. Much better in the 2nd half. More zone time. Isles defending well to limit high danger chances.

Failure to get the puck deep cost them. Great play by Hutson to intercept the clear and spring Dobson.

That was more on the D than Binnington. Great hands by Boldy in tight.

Hellebyck was very good and also lucky. Binnington came up with a number of big stops. Gave his team a chance. Ultimately a one goal difference. So slimmest of margins. Still not sure how you can blame Binnington. More can credit Hellebyck for playing outstanding. He was the best player on the ice

Yes he was. Dammit

Just one goal short. Binnington is not the reason we lost. Bounces did not go our way this game. So many chances to win it but just did not go. One goal short.

Sure it will. Such a great player. Sure it will fuel him. He will want his shot at redemption.

But no one should question the heart, grit and determination of Team Canada. They played their hearts out. What a game. Just one goal short.

That is 3v3 hockey. Trade punches until one goes down.

If ever.

Should be 5v5 until a goal is scored. Likely the way the players want it as well.

But here we are

Czechs played a great game. The way they had to play. Almost had it. But Canada found a way with a grr as t shift by Suzuki and a great individual effort by Marner. What a game.

I don’t think so. Olympics wants the NHL stars. Can’t let Never-Will-Be’s go out there and cheap shot NHL players. Should have been given 5 min penalties and game ejections. So it comes down to Wilson delivering a message. Referees need to do a better job.

That is rough. Hope you feel better soon.

Guhle late to pick up Kaprisov.

Small sample size but Dobes looks more comfortable in net since the goaltending coach change. Stick with Dobes but eventually will need Monty to play well as well. Hope Marciano can get him going as well.

Hard call to sit assistant captain and leader. Still plays a gritty game. True the Habs will have lots of bodies for a few chairs. See how HuGo and MSL sorts it out.

Will be a tough conversation. I think he stays in the line-up for the rest of the season. Continue to manage his minutes. No need to disrupt the locker room. Decision for Hughes in the off season. Gally may be open to a trade to a rebuilding team like Vancouver.

Plus Danault decides to leave his spot and go down low. Matheson had the Sabres covered. Leaves the slot wide open.

Dach with an assist the hard way. Blocking a shot off his ankle.

30.01.2026 02:12 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Had to be good. Habs with too many turnovers in their own end. Doby bailing them out.

30.01.2026 01:25 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Leaves the top corner open as back in his net and down early. Does not have strong rebound control. Rarely uses his goal stick. Loses his net. Does not fight through screens. Flaws surface when he is not playing well.

I think HuGo are constantly evaluating their team and prospects. Likely have made a decision on a few players. Recognize the gaps. Remain patient waiting for opportunities to arise. Next two years are critical build and development yrs to hopefully reach contention. Lots of critical decisions ahead

Agree on Evans. Can’t see Dach playing bottom 6. Texier is not strong in the corners. Needs to play more engaged. One thing about the Bruins is every player buys in. Hard on the puck.

25.01.2026 04:05 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Dach is a big guy who does not play physical

25.01.2026 04:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Definite need in the bottom 6. Going to have to play a gritty, physical game to win in the playoffs.
