I certainly hope you’re right. Sports doomerism has become my default state at this point.

It looks very similar to the start of my baseball season (I’m a long-suffering Orioles fan). That did not end well. This feels the same: good enough finish, but the miserable start and injuries were too much to overcome, and they’re on the brink of relegation if not relegated outright.

Now, to find the sport.

Sure, but they all get there. They all reach the top of the mountain. I come from a family of bandwagon Yankees fans; I’m living in Yankees territory … and I’m going on my 39th miserable year of Orioles fandom.

I’ll take the United or the Yankees of whatever new sport I watch from this point on.

As a Fulham supporter … it’s a bloody nightmare to watch Fulham right now. And it kinda doesn’t feel like improvement is coming.

The next time I pick up a new sport, I’m going all in on the most successful and popular club in it. I’ve earned a little d-baggery. I’ve earned the right to jump on a bandwagon and act like I’ve been there all along and it’s mine, mine, mine.

Too new of a supporter, I’m afraid. I spent too many years wasting away watching American football. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Gotta tell you … finally losing the faith here. I’ve transitioned to working on accepting that it’ll end for me with no joy. Futility into the eternal void.

Wrestling, as usual, will give me the winning feeling that my sports teams rarely, if ever, do.

Baseball team hasn’t even reached a World Series since 1983.

I’m waiting for the ups. Been decades of downs.

Ugh. Can you at least insult us with AEW stuff? WWE is for the lowest common denominator.

No Muniz and no Robinson is killing them. As with my baseball team, the injuries and horrific start will likely be too much to overcome. And so it goes. My loser life in fandom continues unabated.

No consolation for me as I keep greying and my teams keep losing. The helplessness only grows.

Fulham is shit right now. Take it from a Fulham supporter. And it can only get worse.

Orioles start like shit.

Fulham starts like shit.

I am doomed to die without ever seeing a trophy in any sport.

Yeah, it sucks. It fucking sucks.

Feels like this season is hitting the shits early for Fulham. I must be doomed to root for terrible teams the rest of my life.

So a shitty baseball season has given way to a shitty football season. Wonderful.
