We took my then 4 year old son and his little buddy (whose special interest was maritime disasters) to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum in Detroit for a screening of a documentary about the wreck; we got some LOOKS when we showed up but the kids were great, save for one moment when my kid decided to LICK A PIECE OF RECOVERED DEBRIS as it was being passed around.

In case you wondered, there's probably exactly one person who has licked the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
