The image presents a comparison of the leading causes of death in the United States for 2023 and the media coverage these causes receive from three news outlets: The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News.

In the footer, it notes the data sources, indicating that the information is based on media mentions from Media Cloud (2025) and death data from the US CDC (2025) and the Global Terrorism Index, with a clarification that values are normalized to sum to 100%.

Listening to Utah GOP lawmakers scold us while claiming they avoided partisan data to draw new congressional maps is rich.

Somehow, we are to believe they were unaware of an effort FROM THEIR OWN PARTY to support the map that gave them the biggest electoral edge.

Guess which map they passed. πŸ€”

South Shore Residents Return To Ransacked Apartments After ICE Raid: 'It Looks Like Hell' A "now renting" sign outside touts granite countertops. Inside, residents are trying to make sense of the raid that made their already neglected building even worse.

ICE is running around Chicago harassing people for not being white.

Just a year ago, that was illegal in the United States and now it’s commonplace.

That’s not making America great again.

The image presents a bar graph illustrating the global population distribution based on the legality of same-sex marriage. The vertical axis represents the number of people, ranging from 0 to 8 billion, while the horizontal axis covers the years from 2000 to 2025.

The graph shows two distinct color-coded segments: a large purple area indicating that 6.7 billion people live in countries where same-sex marriage is illegal, and a smaller green area representing 1.5 billion people who reside in countries where same-sex marriage is legal. The graph emphasizes the disparity in populations affected by these legal statuses over time.

At the bottom of the image, the data sources are listed as follows: HYDE (2023), Gapminder (2022), and UN WPP (2024). The image is published with a Creative Commons attribution.

1.5 billion people now live in countries where same-sex marriage is legal β€” but that’s only one in five worldwide.

NDRC Calls on Utah Legislature to Adopt Fair, Commission-Drawn Congressional Map - National Democratic Redistricting Committee NDRC is building a targeted, state-by-state strategy to ensure Democrats can fight back against gerrymandering and achieve fair maps during the redistricting process.

Utah courts said it loud and clear: redraw the map fairly.

But none of the maps drafted by Republicans follow this directive. Legislators must follow Prop 4 and stop undermining voters. Our full statement: bit.ly/46QvKAf

I think the makers of Tylenol should sue the administration for defamation and due process violations.

Because Tylenol should have been given due process to disprove allegations against it before the government publicly declared it the cause of autism.

But that’s just me.

Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel Trump’s most brazen attack on free speech yet.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

You’re missing the point. It doesn’t matter what Kimmel said. The federal government threatened ABC to suspend/fire Kimmel or there’d be consequences. It was a direct threat issued yesterday, and it’s on tape. That’s a direct violation of the First Amendment. It’s a direct attack on free speech.

Political violence is bad. It usually begets more political violence.

Celebrating political violence is bad. It usually encourages more political violence, against various targets.

Campus shootings are bad. They make everyone on campus less safe.

It's bad that what I wrote here is controversial.

PSA: Please remember to wear a well-fitting mask when you’re at the pharmacy getting vaccinated (or are there for any other reason). I really appreciate anyone taking a step to protect themselves by getting vaccinated, but you put yourself at unnecessary risk if you don’t wear a mask while doing so.

Much attention has rightly been paid to the sheer strangeness of RFK Jr.

But as the person now in charge of our public health, what really matters - more than the theatrics or trolling - is what he is taking away from us.
